Partially. The centre of the lens has a clear optical zone, but a full blackout print reduces the light reaching your eye and narrows your peripheral vision. They are made for short wear in good lighting and are not suitable for driving.

Do blackout contacts work on light or blue eyes?

Yes. Blackout lenses are fully opaque, so nothing of your natural colour shows through. The effect is identical on dark brown, hazel, green and blue eyes.

What is the difference between blackout and black sclera lenses?

A blackout lens covers the iris only, leaving the white of your eye visible. A black sclera lens covers the entire visible eye including the white, which produces a far more extreme, fully black look.

Are blackout contacts uncomfortable?

They are the same lens material and base curve as our other designs, so comfort is comparable. What differs is vision, not comfort: less light reaches the eye, which some people find tiring over long periods.

It is the strongest single-colour costume effect available, and because nothing shows through it works identically on every natural eye colour. Dark brown, hazel, blue: the result is the same.
