The wig

The eyes: what Power's look like, and how the lens recreates them
In Chainsaw Man, Power has yellow-orange irises with red, cross-shaped pupils — the Blood Fiend tell. Cross-shaped pupils. That combination is not something eyeshadow or editing can fake in person, which is why the lens matters more for Power than almost any other part of the costume.

Timeline: counting back from the event
- Five to six weeks out: order the costume, especially if it is made to measure, and book an eye exam if you do not have a current contact lens prescription.
- Four weeks out: order the lenses and the wig. Standard shipping runs 14–20 days door to door, and you want the lenses in hand with a week to spare.
- One week out: rehearsal. Full makeup, lenses in, wig on, two hours of wear, and a test photo in daylight and in indoor light.
- The night before: lenses in fresh solution, props packed, wig pinned to a stand so the styling holds.
Mistakes that break a Power cosplay
- Wrong eye colour. The most common one. People recognise yellow-orange, cross pupils with cross-shaped pupils; a generic lens in roughly the right colour reads as "someone in a Power wig".
- A translucent lens on dark eyes. Cheap tinted lenses blend with your own iris and go muddy. Opaque prints are made for this.
- Lenses in after makeup. Powder and spray end up on the lens and your eye is sore by lunchtime. Lenses go in first, on a clean face.
- Skipping the rehearsal. A lens that sits slightly off-centre shows a crescent of your own iris in every close-up; you only find that out by wearing it once at home.
