The Spider Look: Halloween Makeup With Red Contacts and White Hair, Step by Step
Mojosee · Sep 08, 2026
Most spider Halloween makeup goes straight for the obvious - a web drawn on the cheek, eight legs radiating from the eye - and it reads as face paint from across the room. This version does the opposite: it keeps the skin clean and glossy, builds the whole idea into the lashes and the eye colour, and adds two tiny drawn marks that suggest the spider without illustrating it. It is the kind of Halloween face you can still wear to dinner. The steps are below, and the lens goes in last.
What the lens does for this look
Red is the only colour here that is not black or white, so it carries the entire mood. The Vika Tricolor Red is a warm blood red with darker fibres running out from the pupil and a soft dark rim, which is what stops it from looking like a flat costume disc under the heavy black lashes. Against the white wig and the pale base, the red iris reads as the spider's eye at the centre of a web made of lashes - and because the base eye underneath is dark brown, the red sits saturated instead of pinkish.

Meet “The Spider Bite”
The look is built from contrast rather than colour: a stark white wig with a blunt fringe, skin kept warm and glossy, and everything black concentrated around the eyes. The lashes are the spider - long, spiky, separated clusters on top and bottom so they read as legs. Under the outer corner of one eye sit two small black marks, a four-point star and a tiny cross, like a signature. Tiny pearl studs sit on the brow and cheek, a black lace choker with a red stone closes the neck, and the lips stay a natural glossy brown so the red eyes are the only red on the face.
How to recreate it
- Base: sheer, warm and glossy - no matte, the black lashes need skin that catches light next to them
- Socket: a soft reddish-brown shadow pressed into the crease and smoked under the lower lashes, blended until it looks like a bruise rather than a wing
- Lashes are the whole spider: spiky cluster lashes on top, then individual spikes glued along the lower lash line, spaced unevenly like legs
- Marks: with black liquid liner draw a small four-point star under the outer corner of one eye and a tiny cross beneath it - keep them small, they are a signature not a web
- Pearls: three or four flat-back pearls on the brow tail and cheekbone with lash glue
- Lips glossy nude-brown, black lace choker, white blunt-fringe wig - then the red tricolour lenses in last, with clean hands, so the eyes are the only red on the face
