Can Pomni's Eyes Work on Dark Brown? Not Ready Yet to Character Unlocked
Mojosee · Sep 08, 2026
The question under every Pomni cosplay post is the same: will those bright doll eyes actually show up on a dark brown iris, or will the pink core turn to mud? This clip answers it in the least flattering way possible - a bare, tired face with glasses on, a macro of the natural dark eye, the lens caught half inserted with brown still visible on one side, and then the full coverage frame. Only after that does the jester hat go on.
What the lens does for this look
Three consecutive frames tell the story: the natural dark brown eye, the lens half seated with the brown still visible beside it, and then the print fully in. The blue outer ring is dense enough that nothing underneath shows, and the pink core sits over the dark iris without greying - which is the part most people doubt. The clear centre is small, so the pupil stays a tight black dot the way Pomni's eyes are drawn. On a brown base the contrast is actually stronger than on a light eye, because the dark limbal edge frames the ring instead of blending into it.

Meet “The Rabbit Hole Pomni”
This version is the evidence cut: everything before the reveal is deliberately unflattering - messy hair, glasses, bare skin - so the transformation carries all the weight. The finished face uses the same grammar as the full jester tutorial: pale matte base, long black wing, red dots along the crease and lower line, a single tear drop, red pom nose, glossy red lip, then the red-and-blue jester hat. The lens goes in before any of the liner so the makeup can be built around the ring.
How to recreate it
- Film or photograph your bare eye first - you will want the comparison later
- Lenses in before makeup, and check the pink core over your iris in daylight: it should stay pink, not brown
- Pale matte base, then the black wing - long, thick, pulled past the outer corner
- Small red dots along the crease and lower lash line, one red-black tear drop under the outer corner
- Red pom nose, round blush, glossy red lip
- Jester hat last, bangs pulled soft over the forehead - the eyes have to be finished before the hat makes sense
