Rebecca's eyes are the counter-example, because the design is not actually 'red eyes'. It is a target: red outer field, a yellow-green ring inside it, then the dark pupil, like a sight picture. That inner ring is what keeps the eye readable as an eye. This clip runs the lens from the case to the lash line, and the ring survives every step - which is exactly what to check before trusting any red lens.

What the lens does for this look

The build is concentric, and the print order matters: the red field carries the character recognition, but the yellow-green ring is doing the optical work - it separates the red from the pupil so the eye keeps a focal point instead of reading as a blank disc.
